2 days Grindelwald – Bäregg and First

July 27, 2009 by carstenschmidt

We have been in the mountains for (easy) climbing in the Grindelwald area. Even though there are harder tracks, our track was nothing for wimps. We have been up to 2300 meters. Luckily we have choosen tracks where most of the time we could enjoy the nature by ourselves.

Are we really sure that we wanna do this?

Over the hills – Steinmanndli

July 2, 2009 by carstenschmidt

Being a while ago in the mountains I luckily got the opportunity to document once more how lovely Switzerland is. Did I already tell you…? We love Switzerland and it’s friendly people!

Climbing down the mountain

April 28, 2009 by carstenschmidt

You can not only climb up the mountains in Switzerland to discover phantastic landscapes one can also climb down a mountain to experience some phantasy like surroundings. 400 meters below ground is already enough for some exciting adventure.

Finding the physical and mental borderline

April 3, 2009 by carstenschmidt

For this year I decided to find out about my personal physical and mental borderline by facing myself a different challenge. Since I am a big fan from Mister “Sir Vival” (Survival) Rüdiger Nehberg and after I have finished his last book I contacted him to find out about one of the famous Survival Schools in Germany. And guess what, I had the answer 1 hour later! So this year there won’t be any excuses accepted anymore.

The only easy day was yesterday.

Trains in Switzerland

March 20, 2009 by carstenschmidt

Couple days ago I came along this selfmade train at home.

Train

I can’t say anything else than “delicious”.

Rome

March 13, 2009 by carstenschmidt

On the way in Italy I had a nice chance to see some places. Thus I would like to recommend the two highlights.

Coliseum of Rome (of course)
Very nice especially on a sunny day :-)

Maxela Restaurant

So far, I have never ever had as good food as on this place! Delicious! One can select fresh meat out of an enormous collection. Also the “Grappa Moscato” afterwards is worth a sin. This place is a “must see” for people who are in Rome.

Tschenten Alp – Adelboden

March 8, 2009 by carstenschmidt

Today we went to Adelboden and up the hill to Tschenten Alp to go sledging.

We started on Level 7 because of our 3 year old son. After a while he got bored and he liked to go faster so we tried Level 8. Believe me or not Level 8 is already tough! However for the very last ride of the day we tried the “Airboarding Track” (Level 9) and that one was really hard.

Another unforgettable day with a changed hat and empty batteries :-)

Next Mountain: Pilatus

March 2, 2009 by carstenschmidt

Jungfraujoch first – Pilatus second. Excellent weather and excellent view. The way up there turns your legs into jelly while being in the gondola and looking down. However I have even seen people walking up the hill wearing snow shoes. Once more I am very impressed about the physical fitness of some people :-)

Reactivating the Blog – Berne Alps

March 2, 2009 by carstenschmidt

After some time I decided to reactivate my blog in order to keep my friends around the world up to date of what I am doing and what I am working on. As a starter let’s blog some leisure stuff first :-)

On 21st of February I visited the Jungfraujoch with some friends who came over from Germany to stay with me over the weekend. The route: Interlaken Ost – Lauterbrunnen – Kleine Scheidegg – Jungfraujoch – Grindelwald – Interlaken Ost is definetly the most interesting one to go up there:

On the way up one passes also the “Eiger Nordwand” which is very impressive especially if one has seen the “Nordwand” movie before.

Management World 2008

April 10, 2008 by carstenschmidt

This year will be my first time at the Management World in Nice.

TM Forum

Finally I got the approval to go there. Travelling and Hotel room is arranged. I am really looking forward for the conference sessions and the trainings. It seems like this is THE place to get the information about NGOSS, eTOM, SID, NGOSS SOA, MTOSI and other interesting stuff. I believe this will be some valuable time.
